Accepting a Team Invitation
How to join an agency in Caseta from an invitation link, whether you already have an account or need a new one.
Overview
An owner or admin invites people by email. The invitation opens a page that explains which agency you are joining and in which role. From there you either sign in, create an account for the invited address, or join immediately if you are already signed in with the right account.
Who Is This For?
Anyone who has received a Caseta invitation email. You do not need an account yet.
Before You Begin
- The invitation email, opened in the browser you will use.
- Access to the invited email address.
- If you already have a Caseta account, sign in with the invited address, not a
different one.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open the invitation link
Open the link in the email. The page shows the agency name and the role you were invited as (Owner, Admin or Agent).
Step 2: Choose your path
- New to Caseta — select Accept and create my account. Caseta creates the account
for the invited address and emails a password. Follow the link to staff sign-in shown after creation.
- Already have an account — select Sign in to join, then sign in with the invited
address.
- Signed in as the wrong person — sign out and repeat with the invited address.
Step 3: Confirm your email if asked
An unverified account cannot join. Open the confirmation email first, then reopen the invitation and select Join [agency].
Step 4: Join
Select Join [agency]. Caseta adds you to the organisation and opens the members area.
Understanding the Invitation States

Buttons and Actions
- Accept and create my account — for a new person.
- Sign in to join — for an existing account holder.
- Create an account — registration for the invited address.
- Join [agency] — final acceptance for a signed-in, verified account.
- Sign out — switches to the correct account.
- Send the confirmation email again — resend verification.
What Happens Next?
You become a member of the agency with the role chosen at invitation time. The agency appears in your organisation switcher. An owner or admin can adjust your role or access grant later.
Common Problems
- "This invitation was already used." The link may have been opened before, or an
admin cancelled it. Ask for a new invitation.
- The invite is for a different address. Caseta matches the signed-in account's
email. Sign out and use the invited address.
- You cannot join while unverified. Confirm your email first.
- The link is expired. Invitations are time-limited; ask for a resend.
Security and Privacy
Invitation links are bearer tokens: anyone who opens a live link can accept it for the invited address. Do not forward them. Caseta checks that the signed-in account matches the invitation before joining.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I belong to more than one agency? Yes. Accept each invitation and switch between organisations from the sidebar.
Does accepting cost anything? Joining an existing agency does not create a subscription; the agency's plan applies.
Can I change my role after joining? An owner or admin can change it in Settings → Team.
